Behavioral targeting has become the buzz word as of late. what exactly is behavioral targeting? It's having the ability to market by delivering ads to consumers based on their recent behavior. For example if you have an online visitor and you put into place a behavioral marketing campaign you could collect data regarding what web pages they had view, which keywords they typed into your search engine, and what products that had looked at.

You could then use this data to push to them targeted ads based on the information you had gathered. This would increase your sales ratio, because you in fact were serving them advertisements based upon recent behavior. There is now a great white paper out produced by eMarketer and the Wall Street Journal that explores behavioral targeting in detail.
