There are millions of blogs that are published, but how many of them are effective when it comes to marketing? Truth - it's a very small percentage. Blogs started out on the personal level. People kept journals or diaries online and then published them as blogs. They grabbed the attention of many surfing the internet. Why? Each blog carried a voice and a story. Blogs weren't critiqued for spelling and grammar, but rather for interest.
Seth Godin believes that a blog must be based on four of the five writing personalities:
- Candor
- Urgency
- Timeliness
- Pithiness
- Controversy
I’ve followed some very simple blog marketing strategies and my blog now gets over 1000 readers every day.
