I thoroughly agree with you. Most of the businesses I meet that are having problems atre writing about themselves or their product features and not the needs of the customer and the product/services benefits.
Make the change and marketing results go through the roof.
Part of the problem is that we talk about marketing and sales as two departments. If they are combined and work together things improve overnight. In several client companies I’ve merged the role of Sales Manager and Marketing Manager and seen great improvements – provided you recruit the right person.
I’m a college student whose marketing class just started this week. Truly, I find this article very interesting. So, I want to thank you for sharing this exeptional information. Also, I want to thank Laura for sharing her thoughts as well. Both of you have helped me understand what marketers should be focusing on.

I agree with you that we have to show to customers what they can benefit from our products or services, and the quality could be assured by the experience of the company its history and its brand image.
Is this applicable for both sales channels B2C and B2B, I would like to have more examples about Sales & Marketing of B2B
