Short Speech - Easy as 1-2-3

I love that I learn from my contributing writer Guy Bergstrom.  He's a public relations professional that gets it and makes things so easy to understand.  For example, I'm often asked to speak at events and I love doing it, but I am always looking for ways to be more organized and even more effective. Guy must have understood my plight, because he  recently wrote an article on how to organize a short speech on an index card.  I love it.  It's simple, it's effective and it's easy!

If you are needing to do a 3 to 5 minute speech in the upcoming weeks, I think you will find his advice very helpful - you won't want to miss this. Guy shows you how to focus on the meat of the speech and organize it so that your audience gets value out of the time you spend with them.   Learn how to divide your speech into three parts on an index card. If you are not doing a speech soon bookmark it I promise you'll be glad that you did.

Thanks for an excellent tip.

I’m often asked to speak in public and have bookings over the next year for over a dozen day long training workshops and seminars as well as a number of 10-20 minute slots … and I have to say the shorter ones are the hardest.

The format I was taught is very similar to the one proposed here … and this has acted as a timely reminder of how easy it actually is you you break it down into its component parts.

Fail to follow a formula and it is a mess and your time is up before you really get going and you still haven’t said anything memorable

Thanks
