Recently, I had the opportunity to assist a friend in gaining the publicity and attention he deserved. A long journey had taken him from the small town boxing ring to the Olympic Trials.   I knew that he deserved not only the media attention but public attention as well.

How could I get past the multiple emails that reporters and editors receive and get them to acknowledge and act on mine?  I had one shot and I couldn't mess it up. You would think that being in the industry for years this would come easy for me, but just like everyone else I had to pull out a magical formula that would help me get past the masses and in the right hands.
