Interactive, Digital, and Internet Marketing - What's the Difference?

Simply put interactive, digital and internet marketing are each unique. But what makes them different? We often use them simultaneously and this can cause confusion. Each of these areas of marketing requires a knowledge base of different products and different strategies to execute a successful marketing campaign. I think it's time we cleared up the confusion.

Interactive Marketing - A marketing strategy that encourages the consumer's participation between the campaign and the consumer. Campaigns of this sort include social media, content marketing, product reviews and more.

Digital Marketing - A marketing strategy that is based on a digital platform. Digital defines the media that is used to deliver the campaign. Campaigns of this sort could be mobile marketing, mobile applications, SMS campaigns, video marketing, email marketing and more.

Internet Marketing - A marketing strategy that requires an internet connection is known as internet or online marketing. Campaigns of this sort include search engine marketing, website marketing, website promotions, remarketing and retargeting, and more.
