Tell Me About You and Your Background::

Grew up on the Jersey Shore dreaming of living on a warm beach year round. In my 20's I decided to seize the day and live my dreams by quitting my day job, selling everything I owned, including my home, furniture and real estate investments and moved across the Pacific Ocean all the way to the other side of America and settled on the island of Oahu, on the North Shore for 7 years.

My philosophy of life and business is to live every day to the fullest and not let life or opportunities pass you by. When opportunity comes knocking, I’m swinging the door with a smile and a backpack ready to go!

How Did You Get Started as a Marketing Consultant?:

Living in Hawaii challenged me to market creatively in order to make my coaching company stay alive and thrive. With limited in-person business events, I went online to women’s forums to network with business owners around the world and then discovered the power of blogging for marketing purposes.

How Long Have You Been a Consultant?:

Over a decade. Wow, that’s scary. I feel too young to have done anything for a decade, much less two careers.

A NY Publisher picked up my manuscript “Secrets of Online Persuasion” which became the first published book on New Media Marketing (before Social Media became a word) and that catapulted my career as an online marketing consultant. Then I followed it up with the first published book on Twitter, “Twitter Revolution” and I’ve been going non-stop traveling to speak ever since. So much for marketing solely online.

What Qualities Do You Feel Make You Stand Out as a Marketing Consultant?:

Being able to predict the trends of human behavior. With a background and formal education in Psychology, knowing what makes people tick gives me a serious advantage to advise my clients when coming up with a proven marketing strategy that works and brings them profits they didn’t have before.

Jay Abraham was one of my first advisors who taught me to offer guarantees – so that required me to be incredibly resourceful and come up with killer new strategies for each client so they’d get results, and so that I’d get paid.

What's a Typical Day for You?:

I’m not sure what the word “typical” means. Every day is different, but the days I can get a tennis match in between speaking and traveling or delivering teleconferences from my home office overlooking the water = is a good day!

What is Your Consulting Specialty?:

Marketing online using automation and outsourcing so business owners can have a life while the profits come in consistently, month after month.

How Did You Define That Specialty?:

I got tired of exchanging my time for money, and created software that would bring in revenue while I was on the tennis courts. Now I teach other business owners how to use software and create ongoing passive revenue streams so they don’t have to worry when the next check is coming in to pay off their bills. And they minimize their advertising expenses because all of their marketing takes place online – many of the places for free.

What Challenges Do You Face and What Advice Do You Have For Others?:

Challenge:When a client refuses to see the opportunities all around them and wants to stay stuck in the same, ineffective pattern. Fortunately I love challenges, and my social work background kicks in.

Advice for those wanting to be a marketing consultant
To sit down and write down all their gifts and knowledge so they can truly see just how gifted and wise they really are. Then figure out how you can help other people. When you can fill a gap that’s unmet in the marketplace, that’s when you’ll never want for anything and you can name your price. Be the Best. No. Change that. Be Better than the Best.
