You may change your mind when you take a look at this report done by Spencer Stuart. In his report titled "CMO Tenure: Slowing Down the Revolving Door" Stuart reflects on the performances of marketing executives. The statistics he provides are astonishing:

  • Average Tenure for CMOs: 22.9 months compared to 53.8 months for CEOs
  • 14% of CMOs for top brands have been with their present company for more than 3 years compared to 50% being on the job for less than 1 year.
What does all this mean and what actions can be taken to lengthen the tenure of a CMO? Learn more about the CMO Revolving Door and how you can avoid it. *Report is in .pdf format.
